Email Configuration
Visure Authoring is capable of sending email notifications to users based on specific criteria defined in the settings of each individual project. However, the email address used to send these notifications needs to be configured prior to sending notifications.
This email address can be configured in the Email configuration section.
In this section, you will be able to configure the following information:
- E-mail server host. e.g. smtp.gmail.com
- E-mail server port. e.g. 465
- Use secure connection. Whether the server requires authentication or not. This option should be enabled for most servers.
- User: Email address that will be the sender of the automatic e-mail notifications. It has to be a valid e-mail in the e-mail server host. e.g. no-reply@visuresolutions.com
- Password: password or authentication token of the email address defined in the User field. e.g. depending on the email server, this may be email address´ password, or a token generated by the server. In the case of Gmail, a third-party token needs to be generated, and the user´s password will be rejected by the server.
- Enable STARTTLS: this option has to be checked if the e-mail server host uses STARTTLS. e.g. in the case of Gmail accounts, this option doesn´t need to be enabled.
- Send e-mails when there is a new auto provisioned user: if this option is enabled, an email will be sent to the ADMIN user and all repository Super Administrators when a new Entra ID or OpenID Connect user logs in a repository for the first time. The user will be automatically added to the database but will not be able to open any project until an administrator has assigned the user to a user group in a project.
The Send Test Email will send a test email to the user performing the test. This feature will only work if an email has been established for that user.
